The Varsity Vocals Production Assistant and Media Assistant Training Programs are designed for anyone interested in learning what it is like to be a producer or media team member for the ICCA or the ICHSA. This volunteer program is currently accepting applicants from all of our regions for the 2022 ICCA and ICHSA seasons.
The program functions as a season-long training where participants will learn all that goes into producing Varsity Vocals events or coordinating media for the team. The programs, running January thru April, are split into three segments: Observations, Portfolio Project, and Field Experience.
Responsibilities for Production Assistant Program
• Complete observations at regional ICCA/ICHSA events.
• Complete a portfolio project to explore the requirements of ICCA/ICHSA producers.
• Maintain correspondence with the PA Training Program Coordinator and hosts in your region via e-mail and phone, updating them on all pertinent information regarding your events.
• Assist in the marketing of your regional events.
• Attend events in your assigned region for a field-based experience.
• Assist your regional producer on the day of events.
• Check-in with the PA Training Program Coordinator on a monthly basis for the length of the program.
Responsibilities for Media Team Assistant Program
• Complete a portfolio project to explore the requirements of ICCA/ICHSA media team members
• Maintain correspondence with the Training Program Coordinator and hosts in your region via email and phone, updating them on all pertinent information regarding your events.
• Assist in the marketing and media outreach for Varsity Vocals events.
• If possible, attend events in your assigned region for a field-based experience.
• Assist your cooperating media team member with social media posts, website updates, and more.
• Check-in with the PA Training Program Coordinator on a monthly basis for the length of the program.
Job requirements
• Basic written and oral communication skills, basic knowledge of Office products (Word & Excel) and Google Apps.
• Production Assistants only: Live within the region assigned and have access/availability to travel to regional events.
• Media Assistants only: Basic knowledge of web design (WordPress), and usage of social media platforms.
