Arvin Zabalerio joined Varsity Vocals in 2017 as the ICCA Central Producer. Arvin is one of the first people to successfully complete the Varsity Vocals Production Assistant Program, through which he supported the ICCA and ICHSA Mid-Atlantic regions and the ICHSA Northeast region. In his time as the ICCA Central Producer, Arvin has helped contribute to the growth of Canadian a cappella involvement in the ICCA and has been a voice for continued development of DE&I in the a cappella scene.
Arvin began his career in a cappella at Rutgers University with the lower voice contemporary a cappella group, Casual Harmony. He loved the a cappella community so much that he also joined the mixed voice group The OrphanSporks at the beginning of his second year at Rutgers. Between the two groups, Arvin competed in the ICCA six times and hosted ten ICCA events. While competing, Arvin won multiple awards for Outstanding Vocal Percussion in the ICCA, and his groups placed at semifinals numerous times.
After graduating top of his class in chemical engineering, Arvin now works for PepsiCo as a Supply Chain Director working with iconic brands such as Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Starbucks, Celsius, Alani-Nu, and Gatorade! His personal brand is focused on a passion for people and sustainability: his work aims to develop sustainable supply chain principles while motivating and leading high performing teams to achieve results. Arvin is an author, and has self-published a book, “Singular Intentions Vol. 1” available on the B&N website. Arvin currently enjoys all New York City has to offer, especially through live music and theatre, Yankees games, and live fitness classes. You can catch Arvin running around Central Park for his long run, volunteering with NYRR as a volunteer leader, or running a littany of destination marathons including NYC Marathon, Honolulu Marathon, and Lisbon Marathon!
