We are thrilled to officially launch the 2023 ICCA & ICHSA seasons! After three seasons with COVID interruptions, it’s been a joy to prepare for a 2023 season that looks a bit more “normal.”
2023 ICCA & ICHSA APPLICATIONS NOW OPEN
Applications to the 2023 Varsity Vocals season are now available! Visit our application page to submit your application form, audition video, and $300 entry fee. Applications are due October 15 for US/Canada, November 15 for UK.

TEN MINUTE SETS REMAIN
Last year, we had a trial run of ten minute sets in order to accommodate COVID protocols. These changes are now permanent: ICCA & ICHSA sets will be limited to ten minutes. We will use the additional time for cleaning mics between sets, and as a precaution should additional COVID protocols come into play.
COVID PROTOCOLS
Varsity Vocals will not be implementing a vaccine requirement for performers or patrons. However, we are subject to each individual venue’s COVID protocols, both for performers and for audiences, which may include a vaccine and/or mask requirement. Please note these policies may vary over time, may change at the last minute, and may be different for backstage performers and patrons in the audience. We cannot control these circumstances and ask you to exercise patience and understanding as we endeavor to make our events both accessible and safe.
COMPETITION SCHEDULE
Typically, we intentionally do not announce our event locations until groups are assigned to quarterfinals on November 15, so as to avoid groups attempting to be placed in a particular quarterfinal. This year, however, we are offering general locations and *tentative* dates, as we understand how difficult scheduling can be.
Please note the below dates and locations are subject to change. Competitors will be assigned to quarterfinals upon acceptance November 15; we anticipate having a complete schedule available on October 1. We will not be posting events on our events page until November 15; please check this page for updates.
A note on conflicts: In your application, you may list conflicts you have with these or any other dates late January through early April; however, we cannot guarantee your conflict will be avoided, and spring break does not constitute a conflict we can avoid. Our priority remains ensuring a fair balance of difficulty across quarterfinals in each region. We also take geographic proximity into consideration.
